Jaggedstar saw the look for fury in Cloverstar's eyes, but instead of crouching, she sat down and licked her paw.  "Young leader, there is something you do not understand."  The old cat rumbled.  "Starlcan left us in our greatest time of need, the left us when leaf-bare killed off all of Windclan.  The medicine cats begged for the help of Starclan, but they did nothing.  And you want to follow their code?"  Her voice dropped.  "Tornclan has their own code.  It's kill those who step into our territory, no madder the excuse."
"So why didn't you kill Eaglewing?"  Cloverstar snapped.
Jaggedstar sighed.  "When I was younger, I was a medicine cat.  I decided after starclan left us, I would make a new clan and become leader.  I took strong worthy cats who didn't want to become loners or kittypets.  And now our clan is thriving.  But you, my friend, will leave my territory and never come back.  If you do, more cats will die."
